A full library inside City Hall, run on the honor system. Sign a book out, read it, bring it back.
The library is through the glass door marked Library inside Dodge City Hall. Wall-to-wall shelves hold several hundred books — fiction, mystery, romance, westerns, history, biography, cookbooks and reference — with a rolling cart of extras and a corner of children's and picture books.
There is no card and no fee. A sign-out sheet sits on the table by the door. Write down the book you are taking, and return it when you are finished so the next reader can have it.
The library is open whenever City Hall is open. For hours, or to ask whether a title is on the shelf, call (701) 846-7330.

Five bays of shelving from floor to ceiling, filled top to bottom — novels, thrillers, romance and westerns, with hardcovers and paperbacks shelved together.
A shelf is kept for new books, and two more are marked Local Author — writers from Dodge and the country around it.
A corner of picture books and children's reading, a rolling cart of recent additions, and trophies along the top of the shelves.
The shelves are stocked by people in town. If you have books you would like to pass on, call City Hall at (701) 846-7330 or email cityofdodge1@ndsupernet.com before you bring them, so there is room on the shelf for them.
